Mentorship over the past decades has been exhibited as being a very essential part of training and career development and has assisted people in their capability to build their careers. People who have mentors or people who experience mentorship get the privilege of growing their networks more than their colleagues. Mentors often introduce their mentees to a whole range of very high personalities, important people and mentees sometimes are also privileged to have the impact of such people as they move along in life.
One can also be promoted as a result of skills acquired from their mentor.
People who have mentors mostly have very high productivity in their various fields of work. Thus, they are often recognized and mostly gain promotion
Mentorship also enhances the ability to reverse mentoring.
Mentors and mentees get the chance to learn from each other through shared knowledge. For instance, various employees can be paired with younger people which means that younger peers can impart to the mature group’s new expertise and forthcoming tendencies while the mature groups can share best work practices and help update standards.
